Off Shift Hospitality EAP
Mental health support built for hospitality, by people who’ve worked it.
Confidential 1:1 counselling for cafes, restaurants, bars, pubs, hotels and venues. Boutique, hospitality-only, and run by practitioners who have done the shifts themselves.
Why hospitality needs its own EAP
The pressure in this industry isn’t like an office, so the support shouldn’t be either.
Casual and precarious
Most of the workforce is casual - no sick leave, no week-to-week certainty, and missing a shift can mean missing rent. An EAP gives staff somewhere to work through what's weighing on them, so they can show up at their best.
Burnout treated as the job
"Just push through it" is the default setting. Doubles, no breaks, and a culture that reads exhaustion as commitment.
A young workforce, high turnover
A lot of people are in their first job, first city, or first time living out of home - with little support around them when it gets heavy.
Things we'll name properly
Alcohol and other drug use, gender-inappropriate behaviour, harassment from customers, unrealistic expectations. No euphemisms.
Why not a generic EAP?
Most EAPs are built for corporate offices. So hospitality staff don’t call.
The number sits on a poster in the staff room. The website talks about “workplace wellbeing programmes.” The counsellor on the other end has never worked a Friday night and asks why you can’t just come in on Tuesday at 11am.
So the kitchen hand who’s barely sleeping doesn’t ring, the venue pays for a benefit nobody uses, and everyone agrees mental health support “doesn’t really work here.”
Off Shift is the one built for people who actually work the floor.

The difference
Not an app. Not a call centre. Not a dashboard.
Boutique, on purpose
Small enough that a real person knows your venue and answers your email. You're not ticket #48,102 in a national queue.
Hospitality-only
We don't split our attention across banks, mines and councils. Every practitioner works with one industry: yours.
Lived experience, every time
Every practitioner has worked hospitality. They get the culture, the hours, and the pass - not just the clinical picture.
