For Hospitality Workers
Talk to someone who’s worked the shifts.
No blazers, no jargon, no lecture about self-care. Just a proper conversation with someone who knows what a bad service does to your head.
What this actually is
Off Shift gives you private one-on-one counselling with a qualified practitioner who has also worked in hospitality. That’s the whole idea: you shouldn’t have to explain what a double is, or why you can’t sleep after a close, before you get to the thing that’s actually bothering you.
People come to us about burnout, drinking after work, drugs, anxiety before service, harassment from customers or colleagues, gender-inappropriate behaviour, money stress, relationships falling apart because of the hours, or just feeling flat and not knowing why. Nothing on that list is too small to bring.
Confidentiality, plainly
- Your employer is never told that you contacted us.
- Your employer is never told whether you attended or what you talked about.
- If your venue pays for Off Shift, they see de-identified numbers only - never names.
- The only exceptions are the legal ones every psychologist has: an immediate risk to someone’s life or safety, or a court order. Your practitioner will explain this upfront.
What a session looks like
No clipboard, no couch cliché
Around 50 minutes
Online or in person, booked at a time that works with your roster - including outside office hours where we can.
You lead
You talk about what's actually going on. Your practitioner asks useful questions and works out a plan with you, at your pace.
Someone who gets it
Every Off Shift practitioner has worked hospitality. The industry context is assumed, not explained.
Two ways in
However you got here, you’re fine
My employer offers this
Your sessions are already paid for. Send us your name, how to reach you and where you work - we’ll confirm your cover and book you in. Your venue only ever sees de-identified totals.
I want to refer myself
You don’t need your workplace involved at all. Tell us you’re self-referring and we’ll be straight with you about the fee and your options before anything is booked.
